Privacy Policy for Contri – Split & settle UPI

This privacy policy applies to the Android app Contri – Split & settle UPI (package com.contrimanager.app), published on Google Play by Shishir Mane, and to the Contri web app at contri-manager-500620.web.app. In this policy, “Contri”, “we” and “us” mean Shishir Mane, the developer of the app. Contact: skmanepatil@gmail.com.

Contri helps friends split shared expenses and settle up. This page explains what data the app handles and where it lives.

What we store

• Your Google account profile — name, email address, and photo, used to sign you in and show who you are to your friends.
• Your mobile number — used to identify you to friends who add you to an outing by number, and to verify that the number is yours. Stored against your account so the same number can't be claimed twice.
• Your UPI ID, if you add one — shown to friends who owe you so they can pay you.
• What you enter in the app — outings, expenses, members you add, and settlements. Stored in Google Firebase (Firestore) so your groups stay in sync.
• Push notification tokens — Firebase Cloud Messaging tokens, stored only if you enable notifications, used only to deliver them.

Verifying your mobile number

To confirm a mobile number belongs to you, we send a one-time password (OTP) to it by SMS. Your number is shared with our SMS delivery provider, MSG91 (Walkover Web Solutions Pvt. Ltd.), for the sole purpose of delivering that message. It is not used for marketing, and we share it with no one else.

Your contacts

If you grant the contacts permission, Contri reads your contacts on your device only, to suggest friends while you type a name. Your contact list is never uploaded, never stored on our servers, and never shared with anyone.

Who we share data with

We use two service providers to run the app, and share with them only what each one needs: Google Firebase (authentication, Firestore database, push notifications, hosting) and MSG91 (OTP delivery, as described above). We do not sell your data, share it with advertisers, or use analytics brokers.

What we don't do

• No ads, no analytics brokers.
• Your data is never sold or shared with third parties beyond the two service providers named above.
